Need To Get Some Focus
Since scoring a run-through training post in Radiology, I’ve found that I’ve lost a lot of my motivation at work. Don’t get me wrong, I work very hard and put in plenty of hours but I just can’t help but feel it’s pretty pointless at the moment. I think this reflection has been triggered by the fact that Fi has been studying like a woman possessed for the clinical part of her MRCPCH that she’s sitting next Saturday. She’s putting in plenty of book work and is currently at the Children’s Hospital practising whilst I’m sat at home dossing around. I’ve decided that once August hits – I’m going to throw myself into Radiology head first and really work at it.
In the meantime though, I’ve been busy sorting out this blog. The whole point of the blog is to log what I’ve been up to so I can enjoy it in the future and this is especially important when lots of new and stressful things are going on in my life. The trouble is that new and stressful things tend to take priority over blogging!
I had been meaning to port the site back over to WordPress from Squarespace and I’ve finally gotten around to it. I think all the posts are present and accounted for. The move should save me £10/month. Given that I’m going to take a (to this date, unspecified) pay cut when I start Radiology – that can only be a good thing. I’ve also completely changed the look of the site. This time I have hand-coded the theme myself so it should be pretty unique. It’s not completely finished yet but most parts should be working OK.
It’s Saturday night and it’s movie-night at the Pettet’s. After some deliberation and advice-seeking on Facebook, I’ve decided to go for The Godfather. I saw it many, many years ago and it was very good. It’s currently number 2 in the top 250 movies of all time on IMDB. I’ll post a short review of it later on.
