New website
If you’re reading this then things have gone well!
I came across a blogging service called Squarespace over at TUAW where they were reviewing it’s iPhone app [iTunes link] and it intrigued me. Squarespace is a hosting service for bloggers. Unlike WordPress (which I have been using for many years), you can’t host their blogging software on your own server (although you can point your domain name to their servers – which is what I’m currently doing). Squarespace’s software is, quite frankly, amazing. You can edit, rearrange and restructure the site in real-time and extremely easily. I had a bit of trouble with my DNS settings but an email to their support team got things fixed rapidly (bear in mind that it’s Sunday).
There are various pricing packages and it’s a month-by-month renewal system with a free two-week trial. I think I’m going to stick with it so please let me know if you experience any problems with the site. All of my old posts should still be accessible (automatically imported by Squarespace). In fact, if things have indeed gone to plan – you shouldn’t notice any difference.
