Boozy Barnstaple

I’m getting to old for boozing.

It was Andy’s 29th birthday yesterday and so I headed down to Barnstaple to see him. First of all, Barnstaple is a lot further away from Bristol than I realised – I managed to listen to an entire 10th Wonder podcast [iTunes link] with time to spare!

I arrived in Barnstaple at around 14:00 and we headed to the pub to watch England vs Australia in the rugby and get some lunch. After watching a dull game we went back to Andy’s house (very nice by the way and only £750 month!) where we watched Wales play the All Blacks. As the afternoon played out, various people arrived – Tim, Jez, Gwen and Eoin.

We started on the beer at around 16:00 then cocktails (home made mojitos) shortly afterwards. After dinner we headed to a house party and I met some chap who claimed to be Harry Hill and Frank Skinner’s publicist. After a spot of iTunes DJing and more drinking we headed into the town centre to a cheesy club.

I think we got back home at around 04:00 – at which point I prompty passed out! Although I have had worse hangovers, my liver is just not what it used to be!

I’m home now and Fi is on-call in Gloucester. I think I’m going to try to set up the Apple TV and I’m thinking about making some changes to this blog…
