Last Day of Annual Leave
As the title suggests – today is my last day of annual leave. I’m really not looking forwards to work as I’ve been off for the best part of two weeks (and it’s been great). To be honest though, I’ve probably worked just as hard during this leave as I do normally at work!
I’m back onto nights from tomorrow so at least I get the daytime off. I’ve also got the day off before change-over which is great although I am back onto nights from my first Monday at work at my new job – Orthopaedics. Great. New hospital, new job, new speciality and stuck on nights. Did I anger someone?
I had to get up early again this morning to go to B&Q (again) to get some washers/nuts and then get to the house by 08:00 to meet the alarm engineer. It was a productive visit: all the PIR sensors have been replaced, the back door disconnected from the system (the door is being changed to a window) and the alarm box on the front of the house has been modernised. The alarm is being managed by Cannon Security and, so far, I can wholeheartedly recommend them.
The supporting wall between the existing lounge and the breakfast room is due to come down today – just as soon as the supporting beam arrives. I’m really looking forwards to that as we’ll be able to get a good idea of what our open-plan space will look like when things are finished.
I think Fi and I are off for drinks/dinner tonight with the peeps from the Children’s Hospital so that should be fun.
